• President Biden’s goal of installing 30 GW of offshore wind farms by 2030 will trigger more than $12 billion annually in capital investment in projects on both coasts of the United States.
• Offshore wind energy development could bring $57 billion in investment to the US economy by 2030.
• Offshore wind energy could create 83,000 new, high-paying jobs in the US by 2030.
• More than 35,000 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind potential is under development on the east coast, and there is room for more opportunities.
• States have so far set offshore wind turbine procurement targets of nearly 74,000 MW.
• The developers plan to bring 11,500 MW of offshore wind power to the grid by 2026 through the development of 13 offshore wind projects.
