The German Offshore-Wind Initiative GOI is a special project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). In cooperation with the German Foundation Offshore Wind Energy, the World Forum Offshore Wind (WFO) supports German offshore wind companies in their export efforts to Taiwan, Japan, and the USA. For this purpose, GOI maintains close cooperation with the stakeholders of the markets and organizes events of different formats in the sense of active networking. You will assume the role of GOI US representative for the US market. For more information please visit:

Role description:

• Lead German Offshore-Wind Initiative (GOI) in the USA
• Liaise with all relevant stakeholders in the US offshore wind industry
• Cooperate and reconcile activities with relevant German institutions, e.g. US-DOE Energy Partnership, German American Chamber of Commerce New York (GACC), German Embassy, trade organizations and others
• Strengthen visibility of GOI and WFO in the US by closely engaging with companies on all levels of the US offshore wind value chain
• Organize and manage offshore wind seminars/networking events in the US
• Create and perform regular US offshore wind “GOI Market Updates”
• Located at German American Chamber of Commerce New York (GACC)

Your profile:

• 5+ years of work experience in the US in a relevant area, e.g. energy, government, industry, non-profit, ideally offshore wind industry experience
• Strong network in the US offshore wind/energy industry
• Excellent communication skills in English (fluent)
• Ability to work independently and within a global team
• Organizational skills to plan and manage events, online and in-person (seminars, networking events, trade fairs)
• Willingness to travel

The position is initially limited to the GOI project duration until end of December 2023. We are seeking a three-year extension of the GOI project and are currently in the process of preparing a corresponding application.
